PMS relief with the best hormone balancing essential oils

Fight the PMS the EOsy way!

I have suffered with a really bad PMS for more than a year. Mood swings, bad temper, mild depression, irritation, cramping and flooding periods, you name it and I am sure I had it. Worst of all I could not stand people and even a tiny remark will skyrocket me into a fight or flight ;)

I knew that was not normal and it was not good for me or my family, so I tried almost anything natural I could think of - herbs, homeopathy, diet, exercise, supplements.

Some worked, but not to the extent I wanted them to. In the mean time I started studying to become an Aromatherapist and trough research and what I learned, I made myself a pretty good blend, which I will share with you here. It contains hormone balancing essential oils, which are essential, if your hormones are out of wack or you are nearing the menopause.

I use it with a combination of about 1000mg of primrose oil*, which I take orally in capsules, during the worst days (or what used to be the worst days).

So far I have tried it for 2 months and the results are better than expected. Only discomfort I feel is tender and enlarged breasts, but I don't mind that, as long as I don't go crazy on people anymore. The above symptoms I mentioned are mostly gone!!

Let's make 30 ml blend, for more you can double/triple the ingredients, but this should last you for at least 4-5 months, if kept in a cold, dark place.

Ingredients:

The essential oils we will use are:

3 drops of Lavender* oil

3 drops of Lemon*

3 drops of Geranium* oil

3 drops of Clary Sage oil*

3 drops of Myrthle* oil

3 drops of Lemongrass oil*

30 ml of Primrose oil* (carrier oil)

Method:

Start by pouring the carrier oil into the bottle. Then add the drops of essential oils. Close the cap and mix well.

This will keep up for up to 6 months, if kept in a dark and cold place (away from children).

How the oils work for you?

The Lavender is a mild and soothing oil and has the ability to balance the cortisol levels (stress hormones).

The Lemon oil supports the liver function and detoxification of the body (be careful when using this oil in the summer as it is photosensitive, hence you may burn if exposed to the sun, after you have used it sparingly).

Together with the Clary sage it will not only balance your hormones but also relieve any pain. Geranium oil is also an adaptogene oil. It is great for mood swings, irregular periods and is wildly recommended for PMS.

Myrthle and Lemongrass oils support the thyroid function. Myrtle oil is an adaptogen that can stimulate thyroid activity. Dr. Daniel Penoel, MD specializes in myrtle oil research and discovered that the oil has the natural ability to balance and normalize hormonal imbalances of both the thyroid and ovaries, regardless of whether either are under or over performing.

To magnify the thyroid-healing effect of myrtle oil we will add to the blend Lemongrass oil, another thyroid-boosting adaptogen.

As a carrier oil, it is best to use Primrose oil. It further enhances the properties of the essential oils and boosts their action.

How to use:

You can use it at any time, by applying on your neck and wrists (it is a bit oily!) several times a day. I usually remember to use it when I feel getting frustrated. The gentle massage from applying the oils and the oils themselves, usually restores my mood instantly.

Mostly I start using it 2 weeks before my cycle up to a few days before it is finished.
